My name is Margaret Cook. I am an interdisciplinary designer. I am currently pursuing a BFA in Design at the University of Texas at Austin. As a student and a designer with a diverse set of interests and skills, I strive to analyze, synchronize and bridge disciplines within design.
I began my college journey as a student in UT's School of Architecture. The methods of spatial thinking, seeing, and creating I have retained from my experiences in architecture still guide me today as a designer. With an intent to broaden my understanding of design as a whole and explore as many mediums as possible, I transferred into UT's School of Design and Creative Technologies in the Fall of 2017 and haven't looked back since.
Due to my beginnings in architecture, I have a special interest in graphic design, and how it may be utilized in a 3-dimentional context. I am also interested in how graphic design conveys information, how it persuades, how and why it either stands out from, or blends into its environment.
The broad scope of my work conveys my desire to seek out knowledge and experiences that allow me to draw connections and think on a scale that is grander than on specific medium.
In my free time I like to attend concerts, take photographs, listen to podcasts, ride my bike, and spend time with my beloved cat and lizard.
